One of the most picturesque spots in the Chinese Garden would be the Bamboo Grove and Waterfall as it offers a magical experience. Towering bamboo stalks form a tranquil pathway that transports visitors to Japan’s famed Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. As you walk through, a gentle breeze may carry the sweet scent of nearby blooms, adding to the ambiance. At the end of the grove, a cascading waterfall awaits, creating a perfect scene for that Instagram-worthy shot.
As if you’re being transported back to ancient China, the Suzhou-style Bonsai Garden will leave you in awe. The garden was meticulously designed and curated by trained masters to offer the best experience for visitors. Stroll by the ponds, climb a rocky pathway to a pagoda, or explore a small tunnel, the Bonsai Garden has something for everyone. It’s also a great place for a picnic with friends or family.
Don’t miss out on this section because of the name. The Guesthouse and Guest Pavilion are more than just event spaces; they’re immersive experiences of Japanese simplicity and elegance. A zen garden, reflective pool, and traditional teahouse set the tone, providing a scenic space to relax and recharge. The serene surroundings of the teahouse and reflective pool make it an ideal place to pause and soak in the beauty of nature. With room for up to 1,000 guests in theater-style seating or 500 in round-table arrangements, the Guesthouse also offers a beautiful setting for gatherings, weddings, or community events.
The Sunken Garden is a must visit spot for visitors strolling around the Japanese Gardens. It’s a instagram-worthy spot that could potentially bring in a queue for photographs. This section of the Japanese Garden is inspired by natural limestone caves and lush forests. Walk through a pathway with walls that’s covered with moss and plants such as orchids, aroids, bromeliads, and ferns before coming face to face with the star of the section, their water feature centerpiece. The whole place makes visitors feel as though they are walking through the forests of Jurassic Park – minus the dinosaurs.
Eden Café, nestled within Singapore’s scenic Chinese Garden, offers a tranquil retreat for both locals and tourists.
