Nat’s Chicks – Chicken Rice for Adventurous Foodies

INTRODUCTION & HISTORY

Nat's Chicks

Being a second-generation hawker in Singapore, Nat’s Chicks is a chicken rice eatery with a touch of millennial boutique flair. Run solely by 31-year-old Natalie Lee, the eatery is a safe choice for budget travellers who want to eat comfortably in a well-ventilated environment with clearly stated prices on its menu instead of having a meal in a packed environment .

Don’t be fooled by the looks of the eatery, although it’s traditional looking with a few hanging chicken plushies, Nat’s Chicks offers a variety of menu items other than their popular chicken rice that can satisfy the taste buds of an adventurous foodie. Some items include prata rolls, tacos, truffle fries, steamboat, and even their famous chicken-rice-flavoured fries!

Roaming Simply Rating:

The highlight of Nat’s Chicks is undoubtedly their chicken rice, crafted from a recipe cherished and perfected over 60 years in her family. Priced between just $5 to $14 (as of 2024), Nat’s Chicks traditional kampong chicken rice features premium kampong chicken, which costs double the price of regular chicken. These free-range chickens are leaner, more muscular, and boast darker, more flavorful meat compared to commercial chickens.

We highly recommend the $7 chicken rice portion, accompanied by a set for only an additional $3, which includes a vegetable side and a refreshing drink (either lime juice or a canned beverage). Enhance your meal with their signature chicken rice chili sauce and freshly-made garlic sauce for an unforgettable culinary experience.

For the adventurous foodie seeking something unique, the “Nat’s Chick’s & Chill” menu offers exciting options. Try their special chicken-rice-flavored fries, seasoned with sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, fried garlic, shallots, and their special chili sauce, then topped with succulent kampong chicken.

There’s a dynamic wave of young innovators elevating the food culture in Singapore, and Nat’s Chicks is a shining example. This movement is truly commendable, and supporting these eateries is a delightful way to encourage the food industry
