What is in the Gallery?

Instead of being similar to traditional museums, the Singapore City Gallery makes things interesting by incorporating computer simulations, and more than 50 audiovisual exhibits. Visitors can try their hand at planning a city with these interactive permanent exhibitions. The exhibits cover Singapore’s growth from public housing to the planning of MRT networks. There is also a 360-multimedia room with images of Singapore from its beginnings to the present. 

Although the National Gallery and Singapore City Gallery sound similar, they are two completely different museums with different purposes. The National Gallery focuses on art and architecture, marveling visitors with its refurbished old City Hall and Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the Singapore City Gallery focuses on how we became a metropolis within just 50 years as promised by Lee Kuan Yew
