The Guest Room at Four Points Riverview

Four Points by Sheraton Riverview is a Marriott Bonvoy hotel on Havelock Road, near Robertson Quay. This review covers the Guest Room with two twin beds.

We inspected the room in person and looked at the bed, the bathroom, the workspace and the amenities. A stay here also earns Marriott Bonvoy points.

Room Overview and First Impressions

Walk in from the corridor and the Guest Room is orderly and well kept. A clear line of sight from the door to the window makes it feel larger than its footprint. The layout is simple: an entry passage with the bathroom to one side, then the sleeping area and a full-width window.

The finishes are standard for a mid-range Marriott: neutral tones, dark timber accents and framed art over the bed. Everything we touched was in good condition.

The Bed and Comfort

The bed is the strongest part of the room. The mattress is medium-firm, with enough give to be comfortable and enough support that you do not sink. The linen was crisp and clean, the pillows came in a mix of firmer and softer options, and the upholstered headboard anchors the bed.

The room has blackout curtains, and the air conditioning ran quietly while we were there.

The Bathroom

The bathroom is a standard mid-range layout, well maintained and complete. A single vanity with a generous sink sits under a well-lit mirror, bright enough to shave or put on make-up.

The highlight is the full bath with a shower over it. Water pressure was steady and the water warmed up quickly. Toiletries come in wall-mounted pump bottles, with a small amenity kit and full-size towels. The bathroom is clean and generous in layout.

Desk and Workspace

For a business traveller, the Guest Room works as an office. The desk has room for a laptop, a notebook and a coffee, and it comes with a proper desk chair. Power points and USB charging are within reach, and the desk has its own task light.

The flat-screen TV can be seen from both the desk and the bed, and there is extra soft seating for a break from the desk. Wi-Fi is complimentary. If you are in Singapore for meetings, this room does the job.

Good to Know Before You Book

Two things are worth knowing before you book.

The design is functional. The room is clean, comfortable and well equipped. You are booking it for reliability more than for character.

The river view depends on your floor. We could not confirm a clear river or Clarke Quay view from the floor we inspected. If the view matters to you, ask for a higher floor or a river-facing room when you book.

Location and Getting Around

The hotel is on Havelock Road, on the bank of the Singapore River near Robertson Quay. Havelock MRT (TE16) is a short walk away, and the Thomson-East Coast Line runs direct from there to Orchard, Maxwell and Gardens by the Bay. The hotel also lists Fort Canning (DT20) on the Downtown Line as a nearby station.

You get a comfortable, well-made bed, a full bath and shower, a desk you can work at and all the in-room essentials.

It suits mid-range travellers who want a dependable brand, Bonvoy members collecting points, and business travellers who need a quiet base near Havelock Road. For a staycation, the draw is the full bath, the blackout curtains and the riverside location, and the hotel has an outdoor pool. Havelock MRT is a short walk away, with Orchard, Maxwell and Gardens by the Bay on the same line.
